The Three Jacks: Music
Faery Castles Fa' / Drowsy Maggie
(The Three Jacks)

Henk Milne / Trad.
This is a tune Henk wrote in a Scottish frame of mind. The story – man surprises his faithless lass in the arms of his brother, knifes both of them to death, is hanged and has his head stuck on a spike on the city wall – contains themes picked up, variously, from a number of different ballads, broadsides, poems and stories from 17th and 18th century Scotland and England.
It segues into an Irish traditional fiddle piece: “Drowsy Maggie.”
