The Three Jacks: Music
The Bare-Ass Girl / Soldier's Joy

“The Bare Ass Girl” is a bawdy reel Henk wrote many years ago and first recorded with the predecessor line-up to The Three Jacks: The Volunteers. The song has turned out to be a reliable crowd-pleaser.
Barbara Drake, the Volunteer’s penny-whistler, said to Henk, soon after she heard the song, she thought it sounded a lot like “Soldier’s Joy” - a traditional Irish reel which has been played on the Eastern seaboard of this country for some three hundred years. We took this opportunity to juxtapose the two – like we do in live shows.
